LG CNS plans to launch a blockchain service for the stablecoin ecosystem in September, adding infrastructure including digital wallets, transaction processing, fee sponsorship and onchain data management. Lee Jung-hwa, head of LG CNS's blockchain division, said wallets are the most important infrastructure in the stablecoin ecosystem and argued that entities controlling wallets and fiat on- and off-ramps (conversion channels between cash and digital assets) will hold a key position. The company said it has already built technical experience in CBDC (central bank digital currency) and deposit tokens through its participation in the Bank of Korea's Project Hangang, where it tested multiple onchain settlement models.
