China's stock market gave up earlier gains, with the Shenzhen Component Index and STAR 50 Index turning negative again in afternoon trading. Combined turnover on the Shanghai and Shenzhen exchanges reached 2.32 trillion yuan, down 202.1 billion yuan from the previous trading day. Market leadership was scattered and breadth was weak, with more than 3,700 stocks declining. Robot-related shares strengthened in the afternoon, MLCC (multilayer ceramic capacitor) names rose intraday, innovative drug stocks stayed active, pharmaceutical retail and distribution shares also performed well, and computing power rental stocks saw a sudden rally. Nonferrous metal stocks, by contrast, retreated.
