The Netherlands' trade surplus increased to EUR 10.4 billion in June 2026 from EUR 10.1 billion a year earlier, supported by a 9.4% rise in exports to EUR 71.7 billion. Shipments expanded to both the EU and non-EU countries, with chemical products, machinery and equipment, raw materials excluding fuels, and miscellaneous manufactured goods posting the strongest gains. Imports rose even faster, climbing 10.5% to EUR 61.3 billion, as purchases increased from both EU and non-EU partners and were led by food and live animals, beverages and tobacco, mineral fuels and lubricants, and animal and vegetable oils and fats. Over January to June, the Dutch trade surplus totaled EUR 53.3 billion, with exports up 0.7% and imports up 2.9%.
