Binance added Moonbeam (GLMR), ICON (ICX), Moonriver (MOVR), SuperRare (RARE) and Sophon (SOPH) to its Monitoring Tag list on Aug. 11 after its latest periodic project reviews, subjecting the five tokens to closer scrutiny and possible future delisting if they no longer meet the exchange's listing standards. Binance said the designation does not remove the tokens from trading and does not affect related services, but warned that tagged assets are considered more volatile or risky than other listings. The exchange said its reviews consider factors including team commitment, development activity, trading volume, liquidity, network security, smart contract stability, public communication, due diligence responses, token supply changes and evidence of misconduct, without giving project-specific reasons for the latest additions. The notice was later updated the same day to revise information about the Monitoring Tag quiz. Market reaction was mostly negative on Aug. 12, with Moonriver down about 20.7% over 24 hours, Moonbeam off roughly 12.9%, SuperRare down around 8.3% and ICON lower by about 5.1%, while Sophon rose about 0.8%. Trading volumes also jumped for some assets, including gains of more than 600% for Moonriver and more than 300% for ICON, though the figures do not prove Binance's action alone drove the moves. The update comes as Moonbeam and Moonriver recently announced 1:1 migrations to Base with a July 31 deadline, and ICON's legacy blockchain is set to halt permanently on Dec. 31, 2026, which is also the final deadline to migrate ICX to SODA.
