Vodafone Idea reaffirmed a three-year turnaround plan centered on double-digit revenue growth, a tripling of cash EBITDA and 450 billion rupees ($4.72 billion) of network investment. CEO Abhijit Kishore said on a Tuesday earnings call that continued promoter backing and ongoing talks with multiple lenders gave the company confidence it had the financing structure needed to support the roadmap. The operator is seeking funds from public and private Indian banks as well as foreign lenders, and said it has already raised a 64 billion rupee tranche. It has also placed network equipment orders worth about 90 billion rupees, with execution expected within the next two quarters or less. Operationally, Vodafone Idea plans to deploy about 3,500 4G sites each month, finish its 4G rollout across 17 key circles within about 18 months and expand 5G to more than 200 additional cities over the next two quarters. The comments restated a strategy outlined in June and came after the company reported a narrower first-quarter loss on Monday, helped by higher average revenue per user. The push marks another step in efforts by India's third-largest telecom provider to recover from a debt crisis that led the government to become its single largest shareholder with a nearly 50% stake in 2025.
