Rain has acquired Ansa, a startup whose software lets companies run branded digital prepaid wallets, adding stored-value wallet infrastructure to a payments company built around stablecoins and card issuing. The tie-up is designed to make balances loaded into branded wallets usable not only within the issuing company's own ecosystem but also at external merchants that accept Visa or Mastercard, expanding the practical spending utility of prepaid digital funds. Sophia Goldberg, Ansa's founder, will join Rain as head of payments. The acquisition strengthens Rain's position in the stablecoin payments market by pairing wallet infrastructure with card-network acceptance, a combination aimed at helping businesses offer more flexible payment and loyalty products while giving users more ways to spend digital balances in everyday commerce.
