Several Ethereum wallets dating to the network's earliest distribution period reactivated in July and August 2026 after more than a decade of silence. The latest known move involved a genesis-era address that activated on Aug. 11 with 2,680 ETH worth about $5.03 million, up from roughly $830 at the time of Ethereum's 2014 crowdsale, while Whale Alert also tracked a separate 2,000 ETH transfer on Aug. 8 that Arkham Intelligence data showed later moved to Coinbase and two more 2,000 ETH transfers on July 20 and July 26, including one to CoinJar. The transactions have drawn attention because on-chain data show some of Ethereum's earliest holders becoming active again, although movements to new wallets or a centralized exchange do not by themselves confirm selling.
