Joonggonara said it delivered its highest-ever first-half transaction value and revenue this year, while also turning an operating profit for the first time on a half-year basis. First-half revenue rose about 42% from a year earlier to a record for any half-year period, and the company said it reached its first monthly break-even point in January before posting operating profits in both the first and second quarters. Growth was driven by its secure payment service, where transaction value climbed 131%, transaction count increased 162% and the number of buyers rose 110% from a year earlier, signaling a sharp expansion in user activity and scale. The company said it will use the second half to strengthen service competitiveness through a revamped app, higher secure compensation coverage, larger listing and transaction limits, and technologies including AI-based fraud detection and a self-inspection system. Joonggonara also reshaped management in June by appointing Kong Ja-yun as chief technology officer and Choi Chung-gyu as chief financial officer. CEO Choi In-wook said the first half showed meaningful progress in improving profitability while expanding transaction volume and the user base, and that the company will focus on user-centered upgrades and technological advancement in the second half to support stable growth.
