IL reported its highest-ever quarterly operating profit in the second quarter, returning to profit as stable earnings from its automotive electronics and intelligent transportation systems businesses offset lower revenue. Consolidated operating profit was 2.9 billion won, while revenue fell 7.8% from a year earlier to 50.1 billion won. The company said the improvement reflected business streamlining and a profit-focused management approach built on existing cash-generating operations. IL is pursuing a two-track strategy of maintaining automotive electronics and ITS as a stable earnings base while developing humanoids and physical AI as future growth engines. It expects physical AI revenue to begin in the second half and plans to expand humanoid supply and deployments across manufacturing, logistics, distribution and entertainment, while continuing development of lithium-metal anode battery technology and preparing for mass production.
