Taipei Exchange-listed companies posted sharply stronger July sales as artificial intelligence demand spread beyond large-cap names into smaller and mid-cap suppliers. Combined monthly revenue for all 890 TPEx-listed companies reached NT$357.6 billion, or about $11.1 billion, up 43% from a year earlier and more than NT$100 billion higher in absolute terms. A total of 648 companies reported revenue growth, accounting for more than 70% of the market, while cumulative revenue for the first seven months rose 28% year over year to NT$2.21 trillion, an increase of NT$480.6 billion from the same period last year. Semiconductors, computer and peripheral equipment, and electronic components distribution were the main growth engines, helped by AI chip demand, firmer memory pricing, enterprise-grade storage orders and restocking (inventory rebuilding) across the supply chain. July semiconductor revenue reached NT$102.9 billion, doubling from a year earlier with 102% growth, while electronic components distribution rose 166% to NT$18.9 billion and computer and peripheral equipment climbed 73% to NT$38.3 billion. The market remained uneven, however, with financials, building material and construction, and optoelectronics declining. Investors said AI server (computing hardware built for AI workloads) shipments and related component demand could stay strong in the second half as cloud providers expand data centers, though weaker traditional sectors may need clear demand recovery or turnaround catalysts.
