Separate earnings updates from Taiwan contract manufacturers showed AI infrastructure driving a broad shift away from traditional device assembly. Foxconn reported second-quarter net profit of T$59.97 billion, up 35% year over year and above the T$58.8 billion LSEG estimate, with cloud and networking products including AI servers accounting for 51% of sales for the first time. Compal Electronics reported second-quarter net profit of NT$3.13 billion, up 59% from the prior quarter and 549% from a year earlier, and said it expects volume production of rack-scale AI systems to begin in Q1 next year as servers rise from 10% of revenue this year to 30% to 40% next year. Quanta Computer, reporting the same day as Compal, posted record quarterly revenue of NT$1.04 trillion, with AI servers still making up 75% to 80% of server revenue.
