Kurly reported record second-quarter results, with revenue rising 27% from a year earlier to 734.8 billion won ($540 million) and operating profit surging more than 20-fold to a quarterly high of 27.4 billion won. Net profit swung to 25.4 billion won, while gross margin improved 1.5 percentage points to 35.3% as fee-based revenue, including third-party seller shipments, made up a larger share of sales. Gross merchandise value increased 25.1% to 1.08 trillion won, led by 25.7% growth at Market Kurly and 13.5% growth at Beauty Kurly, while third-party seller shipments including Fulfillment by Kurly rose 32.1%. Cash and cash equivalents climbed 73% to a record 372.9 billion won. After first-quarter revenue of 745.7 billion won and operating profit of 24.2 billion won, first-half operating profit reached 51.6 billion won, about 16.6 times the year-earlier level. The stronger earnings and a May share placement to Naver that valued Kurly at 2.8 trillion won are expected to support faster IPO preparations.
