Three long-inactive Bitcoin wallets dating back to early 2014 have moved a combined 87.43 BTC worth about $5.58 million, drawing fresh attention to dormant holdings returning on-chain after more than a decade. One address, 1Me9Ep…ZARNtRu, transferred its entire 27.85 BTC balance around 08:25 yesterday in block 961,963 after sitting untouched since Feb. 2, 2014. At current prices, that stash is valued at roughly $1.78 million. With Bitcoin trading around $800-$814 when the coins were originally acquired, the return is estimated at more than 7,700%, or about $1.76 million in gains on that wallet alone. Galaxy Research data indicated the activity extended beyond a single address, with two other early-2014 wallets moving 26.81 BTC and 32.77 BTC in consecutive blocks, while another 26.96 BTC had been transferred the previous day during the same period. Blockchain records show the coins had passed through earlier address chains before landing in their current wallets, and the latest transfers appear to be routing funds to modern addresses using newer Bitcoin script types. There is no clear indication so far that the BTC was sent to centralized exchanges or moved for an imminent sale.
