Crypto spot trading activity weakened sharply in July 2026, with total volume across 14 major exchanges falling 21.7% month on month to $429 billion from $547.9 billion in June, while Robinhood reported $10.9 billion in notional cryptocurrency trading volume, down 33% from June and 62% from a year earlier. Robinhood's July operating data also showed stronger activity outside crypto: stock notional trading volume rose 59% year over year to $333 billion, options contracts climbed 66% to 324 million and event contracts surged about 20-fold to 6.1 billion. Funded customers reached 28.5 million at the end of July, platform assets stood at $355 billion, net deposits were $5.6 billion and margin balances rose to $20.7 billion, even as securities lending revenue fell 34% to $40 million. Binance remained the largest exchange in the 14-venue dataset with $196.5 billion, ahead of OKX at $41.6 billion and Bybit at $36.3 billion, underscoring that July's slowdown was broad across centralized exchanges and retail platforms.
