Solana remained operational after an infrastructure provider outage disrupted 102 of the network's 699 validators and caused 28.83% of staked SOL to become delinquent, about 86% of the 33.34% offline-stake threshold that would stop transaction finality. The mainnet did not halt: 597 staking validators, or about 85%, continued voting, blocks kept being produced, and transactions continued to land. Solana Foundation technology executive Jacob Creech said affected validators were restored within about 40 minutes and that validators in the Solana Foundation Delegation Program were not impacted. Marinade said about 90 validators were affected for roughly 33 minutes and lost about 333 SOL in rewards, which validator bonds will cover at the end of the epoch.
