Acurx Pharmaceuticals reported a Q2 2026 net loss of $2.3 million and ended the quarter with $10.7 million in cash as it continued preparing ibezapolstat, its lead antibiotic candidate for C. difficile infection, for Phase 3 trials. The company has previously said the program is Phase 3 ready, subject to financing, after FDA guidance from a July 13, 2026 Type C meeting indicated that a single Phase 3 trial with supporting studies could potentially support a New Drug Application. Acurx has also expanded patent protection around its DNA Polymerase IIIC inhibitor portfolio, with recent grants in Japan and Mexico bringing the estate to six U.S. patents and 10 international patents covering ibezapolstat and ACX-375C.
