WeRide said second-quarter 2026 revenue rose 82.2% year over year to RMB231.7 million, or about US$34.2 million, with overseas revenue up 164.4%, outpacing overall growth as international markets became a larger contributor. The Guangzhou-based autonomous driving company also reported stronger robotaxi utilization, with average daily rides per vehicle above 21, ride-hailing revenue up about 140% from the prior quarter and registered users up 35% sequentially. Gross margin improved to 37.5% from 28.1% a year earlier, which CFO Jennifer Li attributed largely to WeRide's asset-light model of licensing technology and working with fleet operators. CEO Tony Han said the company is exploring expansion in Australia, Japan, South Korea and Southeast Asia, while its fleet already operates in more than 60 cities across 13 countries. WeRide said its EBITDA loss narrowed 8.1% year over year, that it does not have an immediate need to raise capital, and that it is targeting 5,000 Level 4 vehicles by year-end, including 2,600 robotaxis.
