The Gabelli Multimedia Trust Inc. said its board approved the continuation of a fixed monthly cash distribution policy, keeping the 2026 annual distribution at $0.88 per share, which it said currently equates to a 21% cash-on-cash distribution. For the quarter, the fund will continue to pay $0.22 per share in total, with $0.07 paid in each of the first two months and $0.08 in the third month. The board also declared fourth-quarter 2026 cash distributions for October 16, November 13 and December 11 record dates, with payments due on October 23, November 20 and December 18, respectively. The fund said it no longer intends to rely on prior SEC (U.S. securities regulator) exemptive relief tied to its managed distribution policy and instead plans to make monthly cash distributions from all or part of its investment company taxable income, while paying realized net long-term capital gains annually if any arise. It added that distributions may include return of capital and could be adjusted over time depending on market conditions, earnings and investment performance. Based on currently available accounting records, each 2026 distribution paid to common shareholders would be deemed 100% from paid-in capital on a book basis, though final tax treatment will be determined after year-end and reported to taxable shareholders in early 2027 on Form 1099-DIV. The fund had $257 million in total net assets and is managed by Gabelli Funds, LLC, a subsidiary of GAMCO Investors, Inc.
