Home Depot is scheduled to release second-quarter results before the opening bell on Tuesday, Aug. 18, with analysts expecting earnings of $4.73 per share, up from $4.68 a year earlier, and revenue of $47.24 billion versus $45.28 billion last year. The retailer has also drawn attention after announcing that CEO Ted Decker will take a temporary medical leave and is expected to return within the next few months. Investors focused on income are also looking at the stock’s 2.70% annual dividend yield, equal to $2.33 per share quarterly or $9.32 annually. Based on that payout, generating $6,000 a year in dividends would require about $222,573 invested, or roughly 644 shares, while earning $1,200 annually would require about $44,584, or about 129 shares. Shares fell 2.5% to $345.61 on Wednesday.
