Context Labs said it has agreed three linked transactions with Trafigura: the acquisition of Agora (Europe) Limited, which owns and operates the Kinertic carbon-intelligence platform; a strategic equity stake in Context Labs by Trafigura; and a multi-year framework agreement covering services and platform licenses across Trafigura’s commodity trading divisions. The companies said the combined platform will connect primary emissions data with operating units and trading desks across Trafigura’s global oil, gas and metals portfolio, allowing traders to view prices, volumes, logistics data and verified carbon metrics in one environment. The deal comes as CBAM, the EU’s carbon border levy, moves into its final phase and the EU Methane Regulation shifts from reporting toward monitoring and verification, increasing the commercial value of shipment-specific emissions data for market access, procurement and trading.
