Samsung Asset Management said on the 13th that its KODEX 200 Covered Call Active ETF reached 536.4 billion won, or about $379.6 million, in net assets about one month after listing on the 14th of last month, helped by net purchases of 465.2 billion won, or about $329.2 million, from individual investors. The fund ranked first in individual net buying among domestic covered call ETFs over the past month and third among all ETFs, including leveraged products, and paid 153 won per share at the end of last month for a monthly distribution yield of about 2.1%, with a second payout scheduled for the end of this month. The ETF invests in KOSPI 200 stocks, overweights major companies in sectors such as semiconductors and IT hardware as well as shareholder-return stocks, and adjusts call option sales with market conditions to balance upside participation and premium income; Samsung also highlighted tax advantages and eligibility for pension savings, IRP and DC retirement accounts. The inflows came as South Korean investors showed split demand for regular cash-flow products and low-fee long-term index exposure, illustrated the same day by KB Asset Management's 3 trillion won milestone in two U.S. index ETFs.
