Anthropic is in early-stage talks to buy Nvidia-backed Decart AI in a deal valued at about $6 billion, a move that could strengthen the Claude maker's infrastructure and optimization capabilities as it tries to relieve capacity constraints ahead of a public listing. Decart develops AI infrastructure and optimization technology as well as its own models, including Lucy for real-time video editing and Oasis for simulated environments used to train and test robotics and autonomous-driving systems, and its team would join Anthropic's inference and performance organization if an acquisition is completed. Decart said in May it raised $300 million in a round led by Radical Ventures with Nvidia joining as a new investor, while Anthropic last week said it was hiring engineers to help co-design custom chips and AI models that can make Claude run faster and more efficiently. The talks remain preliminary and could still change or collapse.
