Dogecoin is drawing renewed speculative activity in derivatives markets even after a sharp spot-price slide. The token is trading around $0.07, while open interest in DOGE futures contracts has climbed to about $1.21 billion from roughly $930 million in late June, according to CoinGlass. In DOGE terms, open interest has reached 17.18 billion coins, nearing 17.78 billion DOGE in October 2025, when the price was around $0.25. Binance and OKX data show long positions outnumbering shorts by more than three to one and five to one, respectively, indicating traders are leaning bullish despite the prolonged decline. DOGE was down almost 3% over the past 24 hours and nearly 70% over the past year, leaving the market vulnerable if prices fall further because forced liquidations of leveraged longs could add to selling pressure.
