China's stock market gave up early gains and closed lower across the board, with all three major indexes ending in negative territory. Trading activity expanded sharply, with combined turnover in Shanghai and Shenzhen reaching 2.55 trillion yuan, up 398.5 billion yuan from the previous session. Market leadership was fragmented and breadth was weak, with more than 4,300 stocks falling. Pharma shares were among the more active pockets, while computing power leasing, food and beverage, supernode-related names and power stocks also posted gains. Precious metals shares moved lower in a broad pullback in that segment, underscoring the market's mixed sector rotation.
