Prominent crypto trader DonAlt said he has begun buying Ethereum even though ETH is consolidating around $1,878 just below a local resistance area between $2,000 and $2,200. The move stands out because traders focused on technical analysis often avoid opening long positions at resistance, where the risk of a pullback is higher, but DonAlt said he was more uncomfortable staying out of the market after waiting too long for an entry. He added that he plans to increase the position over the coming days and buy more if Ethereum revisits a green support zone around $1,750-$1,800. The trader, who is known in the crypto community for accurately predicting XRP's 700% rally in 2024, paired the trade with criticism of retail investors, arguing that many turn euphoric on rallies and panic on minor declines instead of using lower prices as buying opportunities. Market observers cited in the report said Ethereum is holding its structure more confidently than Bitcoin, which remains in a low-volatility range near $63,000 after the latest U.S. inflation data, or CPI (Consumer Price Index), potentially leaving room for ETH to target higher levels, including prior all-time highs above $4,000. The purchase also carries personal significance for DonAlt, who said an early career-defining ETH long from $84 on BitMEX came down to luck because of an accidental leverage sizing mistake.
