CME Group Foundation said it has awarded $360,000 in scholarships to 15 low-income, first-generation Illinois college students majoring in finance, technology and related fields. CME Group executives will host a Day of Recognition and Market Education for this year's recipients, where students will learn about internship and career opportunities at CME Group and across financial services. Since launching in 2019, the scholarship program has distributed more than $4.9 million to 138 students at 13 partner colleges and universities in the United States. Terry Duffy, CME Group Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, said the scholarships are intended to help students shape the future of finance and technology, while scholar Melise Sever said the support reduced financial pressure on her family and expanded her college options.
