Pathway has completed financing that brings its total seed funding to $30 million and values the Palo Alto, California-based AI research lab at $500 million post-money. Investors included Id4 Ventures, TQ Ventures, Red Bridge Ventures, Kadmos Capital and WS Investment, an investment vehicle under Wilson Sonsini, while Databricks Chief AI Scientist Jonathan Frankle participated as an angel investor. The company focuses on post-Transformer model architectures, an area drawing growing attention in AI research, and has previously described its biologically inspired dynamic hierarchical architecture, or BDH, as designed to support continuous learning and adaptation with less data than models that require periodic retraining. Pathway said the new capital will be used to expand high-performance computing capacity, including purchases of next-generation Nvidia Blackwell/GB300 systems, and to accelerate development of specialized inference models for financial services, technology and healthcare. The company had also announced the appointment of former Google DeepMind Gemini product lead Adam Kurzrok as chief product officer to oversee product direction, including packaging, evaluation systems and commercial deployment.
