Ether.fi has launched its Summer update, expanding its self-custodial app beyond Ethereum restaking into tokenized stock and metals trading, Aave-powered portfolio-backed loans on Optimism, fiat accounts and card-based spending. The company said tokenized assets trade through xStocks in self-custodial vaults with social recovery, while card and fiat rails now support more than 30 currencies and payment methods including Apple Pay and Cash App; Ether.fi Cash offers 3% cash back, no top-up fees and no foreign-exchange fees for higher membership tiers. Ether.fi said its card business serves about 500,000 users and has issued roughly 150,000 cards, while the platform’s restaking exposure has fallen to under 1% and total value locked, or TVL, has declined from $12.4 billion to $3.3 billion as it broadens into crypto- and fiat-linked services. Tokenized stock trading remains unavailable in the U.S. and certain other markets, and Ether.fi has also introduced programmatic ETHFI buybacks without disclosing a schedule or expected size.
