Quanta Computer and Quantinuum have expanded their relationship with a development agreement to build hardware infrastructure, systems engineering and manufacturing capabilities for advanced quantum computers, combining Quantinuum's trapped-ion technology with Quanta's large-scale hardware production expertise. The Aug. 13 deal centers on modular, scalable systems for Quantinuum's QCCD architecture and Helios platform and is aimed at the fault-tolerant quantum computers widely seen as the threshold for practical commercial use. The partnership follows Quanta's roughly $50 million investment in Quantinuum's August 2025 Series B round for an approximately 0.49% stake, strengthening Quantinuum's manufacturing path as it competes with superconducting, trapped-ion and photonic rivals including IBM, Google, IonQ and PsiQuantum.
