Nan Ya Plastics said its electronic materials products have undergone multiple price increases this year, with cumulative hikes exceeding 100%, as shortages of fiberglass cloth and copper foil and AI-driven demand keep supply tight. The Taiwan-listed company said a Sept. 1 price-increase letter circulating in the market was not an official notice to all customers but likely part of negotiations with a specific client, and that pricing has been raised gradually on a case-by-case basis rather than through a one-off 20% increase. The clarification sent shares to their daily limit, closing at NT$207.5, or about $6.48, with trading volume expanding to 153,000 lots. Nan Ya said tight supply in fiberglass cloth and copper foil is constraining copper clad laminate, or CCL, output, while demand from AI servers and capital spending by the four major U.S. cloud service providers are supporting higher prices and stronger orders. The company said August and third-quarter revenue should benefit, and expects second-half profitability to exceed the first half after first-half EPS of NT$5.17.
