Binance applies LPP to ONEUSDT perpetual contract on Aug. 14 after Harmony price dislocations

Binance will introduce its latest LPP (price protection mechanism) for the ONE USDT U-margined perpetual contract at 20:00 on Aug. 14 after a Harmony (ONE) security incident triggered abnormal spot prices across multiple trading platforms. The exchange said user assets will not be affected. During the temporary regime, the contract’s mark price will be calculated from the average traded price over the past 10 seconds and shifted smoothly, with each second’s move capped at ±1%. Funding rate limits will also be tightened to ±0.005% from ±2.000%. Binance said the LPP period will end once ONE spot prices across multiple exchanges move back into alignment, after which standard mark-price calculation will resume in a separate announcement.
