Strong August 2026 results from the three largest U.S. cloud providers suggest heavy artificial intelligence infrastructure spending is translating into commercial demand across the sector. Microsoft reported 18% revenue growth and 21% operating income growth in fiscal 2026, with Azure revenue surpassing $100 billion and Azure growth accelerating to 43% in the fourth quarter. Microsoft's broader fourth-quarter results showed revenue rose 17.7% to $90.01 billion, cloud revenue increased 31.6% and commercial backlog jumped 84%, while management said it expects Azure growth of about 45% in the first quarter of fiscal 2027.
