Cosmostation, one of the most widely used non-custodial wallets in the Cosmos ecosystem, said on Aug. 14 it will discontinue wallet services across its iOS app, Android app and Chrome browser extension starting Sept. 1, leaving only recovery phrase and private key export available. Because the wallet is non-custodial, user assets remain on their respective blockchains rather than with the company, but users still need to back up their seed phrase or private key before functions are phased out. The closure follows Leap Wallet's shutdown on May 28 and leaves Keplr as the most prominent remaining Cosmos-native wallet, highlighting further consolidation in the ecosystem's wallet layer and renewed questions about how wallet infrastructure is funded.
