SpaceX ended Aug. 14 at $140 a share, giving the company a market value of $1.85 trillion and leaving the stock up 3.7% from its issue price after recovering much of an almost 50% post-listing slide. Fresh second-quarter Form 13F filings show Harvard Management Company held 12.9351 million shares worth $2.21 billion at June 30, equal to 51.9% of its $4.26 billion U.S. equities portfolio, while the University of California system disclosed about $1 billion of exposure and other university endowments including the University of North Carolina system, Washington University in St. Louis and Stanford also reported sizable positions built through early venture investments. The broader filing set still showed Alphabet as the largest disclosed SpaceX holder overall, ahead of Valor Management, FMR LLC, Gigafund Management, Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund and BAMCO, underscoring how early backers and long-term capital dominated the initial ownership picture after the June 12 Nasdaq listing. The filings were quarter-end snapshots and did not reveal short positions, cost basis, purchase timing, post-quarter trading or whether pre-IPO holders remained subject to lockups.
