Nvidia and LG Group signed a strategic memorandum of understanding on August 13 at Nvidia's Santa Clara headquarters to expand collaboration in physical AI across a bipedal humanoid robot, AI factories and autonomous vehicle platforms. LG plans to publicly unveil the humanoid in the first quarter of 2027 using Nvidia's Isaac GR00T foundation model, Jetson Thor and Halos for Robotics, while an AI factory reference site is targeted for the first half of 2027 and an 80-megawatt facility in Cheonan for the first half of 2028. The deal comes as Nvidia sharpens a broader robotics push around Isaac GR00T and physical AI, with CEO Jensen Huang saying at GTC 2026 that every industrial company will become a robotics company.
