Harvard University has disclosed a SpaceX stake valued at $2.2 billion after the rocket company’s June 11 IPO converted years of private-market holdings into publicly traded shares under ticker SPCX. SpaceX priced the offering at $135 per share, implying a market capitalization of about $1.77 trillion to $1.8 trillion and making it one of the largest public listings on record. The disclosure indicates Harvard’s endowment built its position before the flotation, meaning the listing served as a liquidity event rather than a new purchase. Other institutional investors also surfaced in post-IPO filings, including BlackRock, pointing to broad large-investor exposure to the company. SpaceX’s dual-class share structure also preserves outsized voting control for founder Elon Musk.
