Behemoth, a meme coin on BSC, surged 8,251% in 24 hours after attention centered on a developer's claim to have completed the first real on-chain 4-bit processor on BNB Chain. GMGN data showed the token's market value briefly topped $2.7 million before dropping to $1.04 million. The processor, named Behemoth, was described as being built from 2,251 logic gates, including NAND gates and flip-flops, and cycle-by-cycle verified against performance specifications comparable to Intel's 1971 4004. It has already run a Fibonacci sequence calculation of 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13. Because its operating rhythm is synchronized with BNB Chain block production, it executes one cycle every 0.45 seconds, or about 2.22Hz, leading the developer to call it possibly the slowest CPU in the universe. The developer said the full protocol will be opened so others can build their own on-chain processors and let processors call one another to assemble more complex on-chain computing systems. Binance co-founder CZ added to the debate by asking what the practical use case is. Odaily cautioned that meme coins are highly volatile and investors should participate carefully.
