Storm said wages earned through that activity are used to support North Korea's nuclear weapons program and argued that Google and OpenAI have known about the issue for years without facing charges. He said Tornado Cash was a neutral tool that criminals misused, while developers rather than criminals are being prosecuted. Storm contended that, under the same logic, prosecutors would also have to charge Google and OpenAI employees if they object to Tornado Cash.
