MDA Space Ltd. said the first eight replenishment satellites for Globalstar Inc.'s existing low Earth orbit constellation were successfully deployed after a SpaceX Falcon 9 launch from Cape Canaveral on Aug. 15, 2026, beginning the commissioning phase. The mission marked MDA Space's first delivery of LEO satellites as a prime contractor for a commercial communications constellation, with nine more spacecraft in final integration. The launch was also the first of two Falcon 9 missions SpaceX conducted 38.5 minutes apart that night, which Space.com described as a record shortest interval between orbital launches.
