Harvard Management Company kept its BlackRock iShares Bitcoin Trust position unchanged at 3,044,612 shares worth about $101.4 million as of June 30, ending two quarters of selling and leaving IBIT as the endowment's 11th-largest disclosed holding at about 2.4% of its roughly $4.26 billion reported portfolio. The stake's market value fell by about $15.6 million from the prior quarter because IBIT declined during the period, but the share count did not change. Harvard had cut the position by 21% in the fourth quarter of 2025 and by another 43% in the first quarter of 2026 after previously building it into a much larger holding. The latest filing also showed Harvard's disclosed gold ETF exposure exceeded its bitcoin ETF position, with about $171.2 million combined in the iShares Gold Trust and SPDR Gold Trust. Harvard's endowment is about $57 billion overall, while the 13F filing covers only U.S.-listed securities and certain options in a disclosed portfolio of roughly $4.26 billion. Other university investors were similarly steady in the second quarter. Dartmouth College left its positions in iShares Bitcoin Trust, Grayscale Ethereum Staking ETF and Bitwise Solana Staking ETF unchanged, while their combined value fell to about $12.4 million from about $14.6 million because of market moves. Brown University held about 213,000 IBIT shares worth roughly $7.1 million, also unchanged, and the University of Illinois Foundation reported a smaller IBIT position worth about $640,000. Abu Dhabi sovereign investors also maintained their stakes. Mubadala held 14,721,917 IBIT shares worth about $490.1 million, unchanged from the first quarter and ranking as the second-largest position in its disclosed 13F portfolio. The Abu Dhabi Investment Council reported 8,218,712 shares worth about $273.6 million, also unchanged. By contrast, Morgan Stanley reduced its IBIT holding by about 4.5%, while JPMorgan increased its IBIT stake from 8.3 million shares to about 10.4 million and expanded its BlackRock Ethereum ETF position more than fourfold.
