Ethereum developers are refining the scope of the network's planned 2027 Hegotá upgrade, where 66 Ethereum Improvement Proposals remain under review and FOCIL is still the only item formally confirmed for inclusion. The package is expected to be narrowed through several upcoming core developer meetings to proposals that can realistically be implemented and tested in time for a 2027 release. The discussion follows work on Glamsterdam, still targeted for the fourth quarter of 2026, and now centers in part on draft transaction changes led by EIP-8141, or Frame Transactions, which could make advanced wallets and privacy applications less dependent on external relayers. Companion drafts including EIP-8250 on keyed nonces and EIP-8272 on recent roots are also being evaluated, though all remain under consideration rather than approved.
