Polymarket has expanded into Pokemon card prediction markets, listing more than a dozen contracts that let traders wager on whether individual cards and sealed products will gain or lose value based on ungraded prices from collectibles pricing app Collectr. The lineup includes contracts on Squirtle, Charizard ex, Pikachu ex, Mega Gengar ex and Bulbasaur, as well as sealed items such as booster boxes and the Celebrations Ultra Premium Collection. In one example, traders can buy Up or Down on whether the ungraded Mega Evolution Promos Squirtle card numbered 039 closes above $28.23 on August 31, with Up trading at 39%, down 11 percentage points from near even at launch. Most of the Pokemon markets currently lean bearish, though Bulbasaur stands out at 64% for a gain and Celebrations is priced at 22%. Activity remains modest, with the Mega Gengar ex contract leading at roughly $2,300 in volume, underscoring that the category is still in its early stages. The launch fits Polymarket's broader 2026 push into culture and collectibles, where it has also listed markets on CryptoPunks floor prices, Pudgy Penguins and Banksy street art, while drawing fresh regulatory scrutiny as officials in Baltimore and New York examine prediction platforms more closely.
