HUTCHMED said Phase III results from the global SAFFRON trial showed ORPATHYS plus TAGRISSO delivered statistically significant and clinically meaningful improvements in both progression-free survival and overall survival versus doublet platinum-based chemotherapy in patients with EGFR-mutated non-small cell lung cancer whose tumors had high levels of MET overexpression or amplification after progression on prior TAGRISSO. The company said the safety profile was consistent with the known profiles of each medicine, with no new safety findings. The data are due to be presented at a forthcoming medical meeting and shared with global regulators, potentially supporting broader registrations for the combination beyond China, where ORPATHYS plus TAGRISSO is already approved based on the SACHI Phase III trial.
