Jane Street disclosed a roughly $991.57 million position in U.S. spot Bitcoin exchange-traded funds as of June 30 in a Form 13F filing, reversing a first-quarter retreat in which it had reduced key bitcoin ETF holdings by about 71%. The second-quarter buying brought its reported bitcoin ETF exposure back to nearly $1 billion, led by about $828.19 million in BlackRock's iShares Bitcoin Trust and another $163.38 million across products including Grayscale Bitcoin Trust ETF and Fidelity Wise Origin Bitcoin Fund. The same filing also showed $112.46 million in spot ether ETFs and a sharply larger Strategy Inc. stake valued at about $232.76 million. The filing offers only a quarter-end snapshot of reportable long U.S.-listed holdings and does not show Jane Street's short positions, derivatives or other hedges, an important caveat for a major market maker and authorized participant whose ETF inventory can reflect client flow and trading activity as much as a directional view on bitcoin. Still, the second-quarter increase stands out because it followed a period of caution earlier in 2026 and may reinforce expectations that institutional demand for spot Bitcoin ETFs remains intact even after recent market volatility.
