China's new home prices fell 0.1% in July from the previous month, matching the decline recorded in June and extending a fragile downturn in the property market. On a yearly basis, prices dropped 3.2%, improving slightly from a 3.3% fall in June and marking the 37th straight month of annual declines, though the pace of contraction was the slowest since February as policy support helped ease some pressure. Among major cities, prices still fell in Beijing, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Chongqing and Tianjin, while Shanghai remained an outlier with a 3.0% annual gain. The figures indicate that although support measures have moderated the pace of decline, the housing sector is still struggling to achieve a broad recovery.
