CATL said it achieved its 2025 target of carbon neutrality across core operations as scheduled, with all 20 battery plants certified as carbon neutral, and released a roadmap toward full value-chain carbon neutrality by 2035. The company said decarbonization has moved from corporate social responsibility to a core growth driver, and it urged global partners at a launch event in Ningde on Monday to speed up emissions cuts across the battery value chain. CATL said zero-carbon electricity accounted for 100% of power used in its core operations in 2025, while energy consumption per unit of product fell 28% and carbon emission intensity dropped about 77% versus 2022. The company plans to extend emissions reductions into materials, manufacturing, logistics and recycling, require new suppliers to submit product carbon footprint data from 2027, and give preference under comparable conditions to suppliers with stronger low-carbon performance.
