Beijing is preparing to open the 2026 China International Fair for Trade in Services, or CIFTIS, on Sept. 9 at Shougang Park, with organizers now emphasizing not only exhibitor participation but also how past and current fair activities are translating into commercial implementation. Nearly 70 countries, regions and international organizations have confirmed booths, more than 740 companies and institutions have expressed interest in exhibiting on site, and over 300 of them are Fortune Global 500 companies or leading industry players. At a briefing on implementation outcomes, officials and companies described CIFTIS as a platform for making services more tangible through roadshows, supply-demand matchmaking and digital tools that help turn exhibition exposure into signed projects. Organizers said the upgraded digital platform now includes an AI-powered guidance map, has published more than 2,900 supply-demand projects and has facilitated over 370 offline business negotiation sessions, while a new Going Global Service Promotion Roadshow Zone has drawn strong interest. Examples cited included Beijing-based RigourTech exporting its China Hawk-Eye technology to South America and Southeast Asia, the Beijing Municipal Administrative Center identifying 120 filming locations tied to short-drama and cultural-tourism development, and Krstar Innovation Services deepening cooperation with South Korea's INNOBIZ through six innovation spaces in Beijing and exhibition exchanges. Participants also pointed to Beijing's broader policy support for hard-tech sectors including embodied intelligence and green building, with Galaxy General Robotics saying its Space Capsule robots are now operating regularly at multiple Beijing landmarks and CSCEC City Construction Development describing a fuller project-support system tied to urban renewal scenarios. The latest briefing adds implementation detail to a fair that organizers have already framed as a flagship platform for services trade cooperation and high-standard opening up as China reported RMB 3,779.75 billion in services imports and exports in the first half of 2026, up 8.3% year on year.
