The Solitude Pipeline System joint venture, operated by WhiteWater and owned by WhiteWater, Devon Energy, MPLX, Diamondback Energy and Western Midstream Partners, has reached a positive Final Investment Decision to build two 48-inch natural gas pipelines from the Permian Basin to Katy, Texas. Backed by substantial long-term firm transportation agreements with predominantly investment-grade shippers, the phased project targets about 2.25 Bcf/d of initial capacity in late 2029 and another 2.25 Bcf/d in 2030, with scope for further expansion and commissioning that can be accelerated or deferred with market conditions. Western Midstream, which holds a 7.5% stake and reserved capacity on the system, said the project should improve residue takeaway and flow assurance for Delaware Basin customers while supporting Permian growth, rising gas-to-oil ratios and expanding Gulf Coast demand, including LNG exports, subject to customary regulatory and other approvals.
