Two of Bitcoin’s biggest corporate backers renewed their long-term case for the asset, arguing that its fixed 21 million-coin supply stands in contrast to continued expansion in global money supply. Metaplanet CEO Simon Gerovich said global M2 money supply has reached an all-time high of more than $100 trillion and called that a bullish tailwind for Bitcoin over time. Strategy executive chairman Michael Saylor made a similar point, describing money as stored economic energy and Bitcoin as its most efficient digital form because its supply cannot be expanded arbitrarily. The comments came as Bitcoin traded in a narrow band around $63,500 and, according to the report, has decoupled from broader liquidity growth over the past year. Bitcoin Treasuries data cited in the report showed Strategy holds 840,447 BTC worth $53 billion, while Tokyo-listed Metaplanet holds 43,000 BTC worth $2.7 billion, ranking first and third among public-company holders. Fidelity’s director of global macro Jurrier Timmer said Bitcoin may catch up with money supply if gold regains momentum, adding that Bitcoin and Ethereum could rise alongside it.
