July Bitcoin production fell again at U.S.-listed miners CleanSpark, BitFuFu and Canaan even as Bitcoin recovered over the month. The Block reported on Aug. 17 that output declined about 5% at CleanSpark to 586 BTC from 614 BTC in June, about 10% at BitFuFu to 112 BTC from 125 BTC, and about 28% at Canaan to 46 BTC from 64 BTC. Bitcoin moved from roughly $58,500 at the start of July to about $62,800 by month-end after falling from around $73,500 in early June to $58,500 at the end of that month. CleanSpark said lower operating hash rate contributed to the decline, with its average operating hash rate down about 9% from June and average daily production at about 18.9 BTC. BitFuFu's total managed hash rate fell about 7% month over month, while weaker cloud-mining output offset a slight increase in self-mining production. The company also used part of its Bitcoin holdings to make advance payments to secure future hash rate, reducing its holdings to 1,314 BTC at the end of July from 1,671 BTC a month earlier. Canaan said a joint mining operation at its wildfire-affected Alborz facility in Texas is gradually returning to normal, and it held 1,917 BTC and 3,952 ETH at the end of July after authorizing management to liquidate part of its digital-asset holdings to help fund share buybacks. The figures show that a rebound in Bitcoin's price did not immediately translate into higher mined output, underscoring how production depends not only on market prices but also on operating hash rate, facility conditions and capital allocation decisions.
